THE PLOT

It's the year 2100 and a new generation has taken the place of Harry Potter and friends. After the Second Wizarding War, the world experienced peace for several decades, but small stirrings of discontent have arisen. In response to a depleted magical population, the Ministry of Magic began encouraging Muggle interaction. Minister Linus Bailey himself took a Muggle wife.

'Purists', disgusted by the idea, began to bite back. Tensions escalated. Civil war began. Several powerful leaders, known as the Council of Seven, broke away from the Ministry of Magic and created a new ministry - the Circle of Merlin - with Minister Gemma Caudwell at its head. The original ministry became known as Pro Totus - all are equal.

Now the Pro Totus ministry is trying to break the Statue of Secrecy and merge the Muggle and magical worlds. Pureblood families are dwindling - for the first time in their lives, they're not winning. The only safe place seems to be Hogwarts. For now.

WELCOME FROM THE STAFF!

Hi there! Welcome to Protego - or PF, as we like to call it. We're happy you've joined us! Protego is set well after Harry Potter and friends defeated Lord Voldemort. Hogwarts is still in existence, but we've built upon J.K. Rowling's world to include a magical post-secondary school (Merlin's Abbey University) as well as new social tensions that have resulted in two different governments (the Ministry of Magic and the Circle of Merlin). Here on PF, we believe that if it's part of the Harry Potter universe, you can play it!
